About Crystal Healing

Crystal healing may be defined as body therapy using crystals. Crystals are used as amplifiers of spiritual energy and thus can be used to assist natural healers to pronounce and foster natural healing energies. As there are different types of crystals, different crystal healing stones have different capabilities in harnessing specific forms of crystal healing energy to deal with specific complaints.

Most people carry crystals that are expected to provide crystal healing powers and they are different types of these for overcoming particular complaints. The crystal healing gems may be carried along in jewelry form which is more comfortable than carrying the crystal healing stone say, in your pocket. A common jewelry form for carrying out crystal healing is the crystal skull. Here the crystal healing stone is crafted into the shape of a skull and is then used as a pendant, earring, ring, bracelet and so forth.

In crystal healing, it is believed that the body has high energy centres called Chakras where the human life force is concentrated. This life force, otherwise known as Prana or Chi, is contained in an energy body or subtle body which can be influenced positively by crystal healing. Thus when you place the crystal healing gem or stone in the Chakras areas, the effect is that the body’s healing power is boosted therefore bringing general well being and better health.

It is also believed that all bodies in the world vibrate at a particular frequency. This frequency varies over time and any variation in the frequency has some effect. It is said that when you are happy, the body is vibrating at a high frequency and vice versa when you are under pressure or sad. The purpose of crystal healing is therefore to raise the body’s frequency to enable you feel good or better.

The use of crystal healing can be traced to Ancient Egypt. They used different gems and crystals for medicinal purposes. Crystal healing also found application in the Indian Ayurvedic medicine practises. The ancient Greeks attributed a number of properties to crystals, and many names we use today are of Greek origin. The Chinese and South American also have a long history in using crystal healing.
